Meet Ryan, the winner of our March $500 College Scholarship Contest! Ryan is an 18-year-old who recently graduated from high school. He is a very curious young man who usually spends his free time writing and learning about physics and astronomy.
In high school, Ryan enjoyed spending time after school helping teachers with classroom tasks, as well as cleaning the school and classrooms. On occasion he has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
Ryan said his dream job is to be either an author or an astronomer for NASA. “I’m planning on getting a degree in astronomy and physics, hopefully, a Ph.D. in both,” said Ryan. He will be attending North Carolina State University as a freshman next Fall. Ryan says that the CollegeMapper feature that helped him the most was the To Do List.
“It helps keep everything in perspective,” he said.
